4.WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED WHEN PURCHASING A DEPENDABLE LUGGAGE UPRIGHT?
The first thing to consider is the fabric material because over 30% of the damages are coming from fabric tearing. There are 5 fabrics commonly used in making traveling goods, (1) PVC, (2) ramie, (3) polyester, (4) nylon, and (5) ballistic nylon. The best & strongest fabric available now is Ballistic nylon. Our Grade “A” collection is featuring this “Ballistic Nylon” fabric.
The second thing to consider is the frame construction. PE frames are commonly found in uprights but they’re weaker, heavier and easy to be bent. One of the best frame constructions is the “Rebound HoneyComb Frame System” made of hi-tech ABS, the same material used in football helmet. Our gradeA,B,C,D (except E) collections are equipped withthis light-weight frame system.
The third thing to consider is the wheels & bottom foot base. The ball-bearing inline skate wheel is the best simply because almost half of the wheel is inside of the protected frame case so it is less likely to be knocked out by outside force. The rectangular bottom foot base is better than the individual foot base because it has more rivets attaching to it and can also take more impact force from various directions. All Marc Johnson luggage uprights are equipped with both ball-bearing inline skate wheels & rectangular foot base.
The fourth thing is the bar system. Look for the bar system that has position locking on the bar over the ones without it. The position locking bar system gives you an option to adjust the bar height to accommodate other family members. All Marc Johnson uprights use light-weight “Position Locking Bar System”
The fifth thing is the rivets on the handle. Rivets are commonly used to keep the handle and the frame attached. Using solid bolts & nuts tight-down instead of rivets is another alternative way and is also a much stronger way to keep the handle attached. But at the same time more costly in price, parts & labor. Our Grade “A,B,C,D” collections are using solid bolts & nuts tight-down.
The last one, or maybe the most important one to you is the features. Don’t forget, if you don’t like the features or the style, nothing else matters.
5.WHAT IS “BALLISTIC NYLON”?
Ballistic-Nylon was originally developed in making bullet-proof vest. It is also one of the toughest fabrics available in the upscale luggage industry. There are different types of Ballistic-Nylon such as 1050D(denier) Micro-ballistic nylon, 1200D QuadraCord-ballistic nylon, 1680D Supra-ballistic nylon, or 1680D Micro-ballistic nylon. Our grade “A” collection uses 1680D Ultra-ballistic nylon.
6.WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF“DENIER” IN FABRIC?
Denier (also abbreviated as “D” , such as 1680D nylon) refers to how many threads woven per square
inch (or you can think as of Resolution). In other words, the higher the denier is, the stronger the fabric.
The high denier is also the key to high strength and abrasion resistance. Another thing to know about
Denier fabric is how a fiber is stretched, spun and woven. These characteristics are measured through
tenacity (strength per denier), breaking strength (tenacity x denier) and toughness. Laboratory tests
show that our Ultra-ballistic nylon is one of the strongest fabrics for its denier weight level available in
7.WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN BALLISTIC NYLON?
Dirt and dust are easily cleaned off Ballistic nylon with a soft, damp cloth. Also, adhesive
lint brush rollers work well too.
8.CAN THE UNUSED PRODUCT BE RETURNED IF IT IS NOT WHAT TO EXPECTED?
Yes, you have 30 days full refund on unused products when purchasing from us. But just
like any other companies, the shipping & handling is NOT refundable and the customer
will be responsible for the freight charge to ship the product back to us.
